I'm currently working on an embroidery that will be a secret Santa gift for my boyfriend's class mate. It's a medium sized book mark with her name and a picture of a cat.
I think that the process of how something comes from idea to finished work is just as interesting as the finished product, so I'm sharing some images as i move through the process. I can't draw (really i can't) so Paul (my boyfriend) does my illustrations. He's a talented artist, but for some reason these cats were a struggle. It worked out in the end though so don't judge these ugly kitties too harshly. I'll post the finished piece once i complete it!
Hi! I'm Carolyn,
I'm a transplant to Florida, although it's always been home in my heart. It's sort of ironic that here in FL. i've picked up loom knitting. I obsessively drill out scarves, hats, shrugs, and half finished afghans. i recently picked up embroidery which i think i may love even more.
I work as a nanny, volunteer with Hospice, and i'm going to school to get my M.A. in counseling.
Other than working with my yarn and thread i love the beach, collecting sea shells, and cooking.
I would say that needle point is my escape, it's sort of a moving meditation. Inspiration is everywhere, and the best part is; when you mess up you can take it all apart and start right over again.
